Jit vs House is a Hardcore Detroit and Brian "Footwork" Green event production aimed to highlight two intricate street dance forms along with their respective musical genres of House and Techno, through selective competitive interaction, set within a party vibe atmosphere. House dance a NY based dance style has secured a firm international footprint boasting many current world-class events such as Juste Debout held in Paris and House Dance Forever in Amsterdam. The Jit, has a rich history and is considered Detroit's staple dance form that continues to evolve. These two cultural forms share a similar electronic musical past and movement that complements an exciting artistic exchange.

Competition Format

8 Participants Comprised of:

4 Jitters

4 House Dancers

 

Prizes:

One (1) Grand Prize:  $500 for winning crew (one breaker, one tricker)

One (1) Consolation Prize: $200 for second-place crew (one breaker, one tricker)

 

Judging:

Participants will be judged by 3 judges (one jitter, one hosue dancer and one combo)

Format:

Round 1: Separate battles.  

Jitting battle: Two 1x1 battles, randomly pairing dancers. Two rounds each with a 30 second limit. Judged by jitting judge.

House Dance battle: Two 1x1 battles, randomly pairing dancers. Two rounds each with a 30 second limit. Judged by breaking judge.

Final:  Crew battle.  The remaining 2 jittiers and house dancers will be randomly paired into 2 crews with 1 jitter and 1 house dancer each. Each crew will have 4 rounds of 30 seconds limits, in the following order (jit round, house round, jit round, house round). The jitting judge will select the best jitter, the house judge will select the best house dancer, and the combo judge will select the best crew.
